Problems with the Thingy-91 firmware-update

Hi, I'm having problems with the firmware update of the Thingy-91.
I received it from my professor to use for my final project (it has already been used by previous students). 
However, when I want to write the file to the Thingy-91 in the programmer in nRF Connect for Desktop, it says that the transport was opened successfully, but after a few seconds I get the error message listed.
I've already tried many options but nothing works. Do any of you know what the problem could be?

    Hello David,
    What sort of connections are you using towards the NRF91 thingy? Is it just one usb cable? Could it be that whoever was using it before have locked the device? Are you able to do an erase all through nrfConnect for desktop with an external debugger?
    You have to share a bit more about the setup and what you are trying, the error message you get, where are you seeing that?
