nRF9160DK build configuration error using vs code

Hi, 

I use vs code to run nRF9160 DK applications and it runs fine for a month. But recently I cannot build configuration even in an empty application . Old good applications, new sample applications and new empty applications have the same error.

The error is: 

CMake Error at C:/ncs/v2.6.1/zephyr/cmake/modules/kconfig.cmake:358 (message):
command failed with return code: 1

Hi Liza,

You are getting a perimission denied error, so you are attempting to write to a location where you ar not allowed. Are you not (or no longer) an administrator on the computer? If so, you need to move the SDK to your home folder or make sure you are an administrator. You could also get this error for other reasons, for instance that the drive is full, and the OS is prenenting writing because of that.

I am the administrator. I try to re-install the VS Code and SDK, but it doesn't work. My drive has enough space. Do you have other ideas?

Hi Liza,

I see. The error specifically is about writing within C:/WORKSPACE/CR2405A10/ . Can you move your project out of there to another location and see if you still see errors? If you do, can you check the permissions of the folders? Could it be that it is set to read only for some reason?

I return VS Code version to 1.84.1 and SDK 2.6.0, then I can build congifuration in new projects.

For old project, I delete some files and only left these, then I can build congifuration.

Hi Liza,

I see, that is good. It seems there was some files causing problems, adn that deleting the SDK and downloading it again was what solved it? I epxect that will also solve it if you try again with 2.6.1 (or a newer version)?

Maybe? Not sure.

I use 2.5.0 now and run nrf9160_i2c_example. It works well.
