DECT NR+ and GNSS

Hi,

I'm looking for clarification whether the DECT NR+ modem firmware supports GNSS. Legacy docs say it doesn't, but there is no mention of it in current docs. Based on that, I think it should work, but I want to be sure.

Thank you,
Mark

  • Thanks, must have missed it.

  • Happy to help out. If you contact your local regional sales manager (RSM), they can provide more details wrt. DECT + GNSS.

If you do not have the contact details of your RSM, please send me a direct message with your location and I'll provide the contact info.

    Kind regards,

    Håkon

  • We are currently evaluating the use of nRF9131 ICs for a mobile NR+ usecase, in which we want to use the position in space of the different participants. Given the on board GPS receiver we would have liked to regularly scan for a position between transmissions. The nRF Connect SDKs documentation still states in the section on DECT NR+, that GNSS is not available on the DECT NR+ PHY firmware.
Are there technical limitations, which prevent both functionalities being present in the same firmware? If there aren't are you planning on adding GNSS support in future versions of the firmware? If so is there a roadmap for the release of GNSS in the NR+ PHY firmware or maybe even a prerelease version of such firmware available?

  • Hi,

Could you create a dedicated thread on this matter?

    Kind regards,

    Håkon
