BLE 4.2 and Smart phones' OS Compatibility

Hi, I use SDK 10.0,

SoftDevice S110 8.0, S120 2.1, or S130 1.0, (I test various examples so I change SoftDevices)

iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 9.2.1), and Nexus 5 (Android 6.0.1).

At this question,

Petter Myhre answered that "SoftDevice S130 1.0.0 is Bluetooth 4.2 qualified".

My questions are,

  1. the other SoftDevices (S110 8.0 and S120 2.1) are Bluetooth 4.2 qualified, aren't they?

I couldn't find these contexts at the datasheets.

  1. If these SoftDevices (S110 8.0,S120 2.1, and S130 1.0) are Bluetooth 4.2 qualified,

does the centrals' (mostly smart phones like iPhone) OS have to be updated as well?

For instance, will a device using S110 8.0 and SDK 10.0 be compatible (or works well without a problem)

with iPhone 6 which uses iOS 8.1? The latest iOS version is 9.2.1.

I'm curious that whether iOS, Android, or Windows Phone has to be the latest version in order to

connect a peripheral that uses S110 8.0 (which is Bluetooth 4.2 qualified).

Is there a list of OS to support Bluetooth 4.2 qualified products?

-Regards, Mango
