SDK Intermediate Course - Lesson 2 Exercise 3 build messages

I am currently working through the Nordic Academy - SDK Intermediate Course - Lesson 2 Exercise 3, found here:

I am not seeing any of the build error messages described in Step 1. I am using the nRF5340DK on Windows OS.

I must say, I found the SDK Fundamentals and Bluetooth courses to be nearly flawless and learned a lot. However, I am finding the SDK Intermediate course instructions to have many issues replicating the instructions and error messages. I am spending WAY more time debugging discrepancies in these instructions than actually working through them. It is very frustrating.

I'm sorry to hear that. I will try to recreate it on my end, which device target did you use? 
Edit: I saw that the 5340_cpuapp overlay was missing. So if this was your target it would explain the issue

Thank you, the board target is nrf5340dk/nrf5340/cpuapp

Ah that explains it. In general we do not recommend using cpuapp as a target as it less secure than cpuapp_ns, the difference is explained here by Sigurd. I have added the overlay now
