Migrating from multi image build (SDK 2.6.1) to sysbuild (SDK 2.8.0)

Hello,

I am currently stuck trying to migrate a project to the 2.8.0 version of the NC SDK.

I followed the exercice of the Nordic Academy : FOTA over BLE.

It works with the project when I add the two lines in the prj.conf and setting the SDK and toolchain to 2.6.1 (Extension Pack with VSCode).

But when I try to build with the 2.8.0 it doesn't work.

Is there a quick tutorial for begginers to understand how sysbuild configurations works ?

The Migrating to sysbuild tutorial hasn't allow me to do it.

The NCS intermediate course is compatible with SDK version v2.5.2-v2.6.1. That would be the probable reason why FOTA over BLE is not working on NCS v2.8.0. I

The fact that the course is not compatible with 2.8.0 is the reason why I come here to ask for support.

We are working on updating lesson 8 to be compatible with NCS v2.8.0 (sysbuild). 

You can look at this YouTube link to know about FOTA over BLE using Sysbuild. You can also look at this documentation to have better understanding of sysbuild Sysbuild (System build)

Hello,

The youtube video explains indeed how to implement FOTA over BLE using sysbuild but it is supposed to work with the board nrf52840dk/nrf52840. And I don't really understand how to create an overlay file, as the speaker says at 9 min 38 of the video.
