nrf91 thingy BT via lpuart HCI getting ' bt_hci_core: No HCI driver registered ' with sdk 2.8.0

Hi

we are using the BT HCI to add BT functionality to nrf9160 using the thingy91 hardware. upon updating the sdk from 2.7.0 to 2.8.0, we are getting the error bt_hci_core: No HCI driver registered. the same code on the same hardware works without any issue with sdk 2.7.0.

Hi,

In ncs 2.8.0, sysbuild is default and I suspect that your project does not have the sysbuild project configuration set up. Could you share your project folder structure? It should for instance look something like what you see in our sample repositories: https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/tree/main/applications/asset_tracker_v2 

What I'm asking about is if you have any sysbuild folders or if you're using child images (which will be deprecatd in 2.9.0).

If you're using child images, you can still build without sysbuild in 2.8.0, if you add the " --no-sysbuild"  flag as an extra build argument
