Is nRF9151's SIP LTE firmware support LTE XRFTEST TX command ?

Hi Nordic support:

Our product previously used nRF9160, all factory testing commands were included in one modem firmware. Now our product replaced nRF9160 with nRF9151. We tried nRF9151's SiP LTE firmware “mfw_nrf91x1_2.0.2.zip”. It dosen't support production test command , just like XRFTEST TX etc.  Such Production RF test command is moved to another PTI image “mfw-pti_nrf91x1_2.3.6.zip”.  So we have to download the firmware twice during the production process, we need to do download PTI image first, after LTE RF test, then download SIP firmware. This is not convenient. So could you help us to check is it possible to integrate production RF test commands into one SiP firmware, just like nRF9160's firmware.

           Thanks!

  • Hello,

Yes, that sounds inconvenient. Currently this will not be a part of the modem FW due to size constraints. Just to verify, have you seen the nRF9161 HW design guideline Testing RF performance chapter in the nRF9161 Hardware Verification Guidelines (this should be the same procedures until the same document is published for nRF9151).

I will forward the inquiry, but won't possibly have an answer until January 6th due to Christmas holiday in Europe.

    Kind regards,
    Øyvind
