I've ready many threads and docs on NRF52 SoC Revisions and Softdevice support but I am still confused. So apologies if I ask something which is already asked.
From the SoC and Softdevice support matrix I conclude that for the NRF52840, SD 7.2.0 (S140) is only supported from SoC revision 2 and onward. (https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/comp_matrix_nrf52840/page/COMP/nrf52840/nRF52840_ic_rev_sdk_sd_comp_matrix.html)
However, when selecting the revision on the "compatible downloads" page for soft devices, It shows that 7.2.0 is supported even for Rev 1 SoC's (Cx0) (https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/nRF52840/Compatible-downloads)
When you select an older version (i.e. Engineering revisions) the suggested version changes to 6.1.0 so there is clearly some logic going on.
I started looking into this as I found by chance that our binaries worked fine on Rev 1 SoC's eventhough we are using SD7.2.0. I understand this may be a fluke, but am I still a bit confused with the information that is available by Nordic?
