"thermal resistance" of nRF52832-QFAA-R7

Hi Nordic Surpport,

Our product need to pass Certification, this certification requires "thermal resistance" of nRF52832-QFAA-R7, could you please provide this parameters? Certification body required write “thermal resistance” into datasheet or provide formal test report of thermal resistance.
Could you please provide nRF52832-QFAA-R7’s datasheet with “thermal resistance”?  or share the thermal resistance test report, thank you very much.

Best wishes,

  • There are no separate therma test report for this part as this is norally not parameter you neet to take ont.o account as the power dissipation is low.

Typical junction to air thermal resistance for a QFN packet like this is 40 C/W. Junction to case is not important as cooling fins are not needed.

  • Hi Ketijo,

Thank you for your reply. Could you please add the thermal resistance of 40 C/W to the data sheet of nRF52832-QFAA-R7? Then send me the download link for the datasheet, or send it to the email: susan.sun@beontag.com

Because without a test report and the parameter not listed in the data sheet, the certification body does not recognize the thermal resistance value.  Thank you for your understanding.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Susan

It's a lengty process to change the datasheet so that's not possible, sorry.

40 C/W is a typical value for a QFN packet and it's not something we have measured in any way. The device is very low power with max power dissipation of less than 50 mW.

    Cheers,
