Zigbee vs Matter+Thread certification cost with nRF modules and stack

What would be the certification cost for developing small volume Zigbee or Matter+Thread applications using nRF modules and nRF Connect SDK? Is this eligible to certify via Certification Transfer Program (https://csa-iot.org/certification/transfer-program)? I think this is the low-cost path to the market. Please note that the intended application does not included in the samples, therefore it should be developed from Zigbee or Matter templates.

Does nRF Connect SDK support Zigbee Pro 2023? Is this increases the cost?

Hi,

For Matter over Thread, you need to join CSA and Bluetooth SIG on the adopter level for Matter certification and Bluetooth QDID and Thread Group on the implementer level for Thread Group certification. The prices for membership and certification can be found on their websites.

I recommend contacting the respective group to get the correct cost if you do not find all the prices on their websites.

For Matter, you can inherit certifications for Bluetooth and Thread. You still need to join the groups and meet the certification requirements, but you can then apply for certification by inheritance instead of going through the complete certification.

We provide a Zigbee Compliant Platform for Zigbee, but you will still need to certify the end product.

Does nRF Connect SDK support Zigbee Pro 2023? Is this increases the cost?

Version 2.8.0 and v2.9.0 of the nRF Connect SDK supports Zigbee Pro R23.

According to CSA's website:

The primary costs associated with product certification are the testing fee and the application fee. Please contact an Authorized Test Provider for testing fee quotes.
