Working to comply with EN 300 328 V2.2.2 by reducing Media Utilisation to <10% on my FHSS system.
I've been told that over-the-air, the NRF24L01+ actually transmits 9 bits per byte (byte + stop bit) and so any on-air time calculations must use 9 bits per byte. This is purely from an RF channel occupancy perspective.
I have searched high and low but have not been able to verify this advice as true of false, its doesnt get a mention in the datasheet, I checked the FCC ID, and searched Nordic DevZone to no avail, all the MU calculations I could find work on the assumption of 8 bits per byte transmitted over RF, however RF Envelope measurements suggest that the assertion may be true.
I could use an official Nordic yes or no please, or ideally a link to a definitive document.
Cheers & ta very much
