Cellular: LwM2M Client error

Hi,

I followed the instruction (https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-2.5.0/page/nrf/samples/cellular/lwm2m_client/sample_description.html) to build and run on my nRF9160DK, but got this error.
[00:00:00.255,340] <err> spi_nor: Device id 00 00 00 does not match config c2 28 17

Do you have any idea how to solve it?

board: nrf9160dk
SDK: v2.5.0
lwm2m server: Leshan demo server 
DTLS
nb-iot (China Mobile Hong Kong)
no sensor, no GNSS
config files: prj.conf , overlay-nbiot.conf , overlay-lwm2m-1.1.conf , overlay-dtls-cid.conf

That's the device id of the SPI NOR flash, mx25r64

I would guess, your nRF9160-DK has no SPI NOR-flash, because it's a early version. Which version and date does it show on the label at the bottom side?

If you have an older one, maybe using the version 0.7.0 helps.

My nRF9160-DK, which has that mx25r64 flash shows:

1.1.0

2022.5

I don't know, why your device reports to miss that flash. According the schematic, there is a switch for the SPI flash (EXT_MEM), which is driver by the nRF52480. Do you use a shield on the DK?

Did you try to build with v0.7.0 (that's not the version of the board ;-) )?

My project doesn't want to use nRF52, so I didn't turn the switch to nRF52.

That may be the reason? Sorry for that.

Sorry, I'm just an other user. As I wrote, my DK (v1.1.0) is able to use the flash. Why your DK reports missing isn't known by me. I had a short look at the schematics and that shows some logic for SPI memories, driven by the nRf52480.

Did you test to build for 0.7.0?

My conclusion:

- either your board is damaged

- or somehow "configured" in a way, where the SPI memory is switch to not use the flash from the board.

But with the information you provided so far, I don't know what happens on your side except, that the SPI NOR flash isn't found.
