LC3 CODEC Bitrate

Dear Sirs,

I am writing you to inquire about following questions about nRF5340.
Especially, regarding the configurable bitrate for the LC3 codec in nRF Connect SDK Ver2.8.0.

The following page states that the Bitrate setting range is 32 kbps to 124 kbps:

https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-2.8.0/page/nrf/applications/nrf5340_audio/doc/feature_support.html

On the other hand, the following source code has the description as shown in the attached document, indicating a range of 24 kbps to 160 kbps:

ncs\v2.8.0\nrfxlib\lc3\include\sw_codec_lc3.h

Which LC3 settings are configurable in nRF Connect SDK Ver2.8.0?

  • Hello,

Canon has already been in discussion with our engineers regarding this..

The following page states that the Bitrate setting range is 32 kbps to 124 kbps

It is so because this is the range of bitrate that Nordic has tested in our Audio application. The actual range of LC3 is wider than that as you have already realized.. It would be possible to configure the bitrate outside of 32 kbps to 124 kbps, but the disadvantages would be more than the benefits..

    Best Regards,

    Swathy

To prevent mutual misunderstanding, could you let us know the Case ID number referring to the duscussion above?

It is not a case on the Devzone, but through Sales. I can see that you have updated the Distributor as Kaga Device, but I was informed it is Ryoyo. Could you correct the distributor name to Ryoyo for new cases in the future? Also, you can contact Ryoyo for this 5340 project support.

    Best Regards,

    Swathy
