Thingy91 in cold environments

What thresholds does thingy91 have on cold temperatures?

Hello, 

The Thingy:91 has a normal operating temperature range: 5^oC ~ 35^oC, but the nRF9160 and nRF52840 has an operating temperature between -40^oC and +85^oC.

Could you elaborate on the normal operating temperature range? Is it the battery's restriction or some other component?

Hi Erling, I have sent an inquiry internally to get more information on the Thingy;91 HW. Will update you as soon as I have more information, hopefully within the end of this day.

Hi Erling, looks like the "limiting factor" is the battery. The general rule of thumb is that the operating temperature for LiPo batteries is between 5^oC ~ 35^oC. That said it should be able to operate in colder temperature. Here is some more information for the LiPo battery used in the Thingy:91
