Yes, it's possible to receive an app event for every connection event. Please have a look at this sample: https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-2.9.0/page/nrf/samples/bluetooth/event_trigger/README.html. Note: this sample may not be available if you are working on an older SDK version.
