SPI read uint16_t

Hi, 

I need to read 16-bit values from a sensor using SPI on the NRF52840. However, since the SPI peripheral only supports an 8-bit word length, what is the best way to handle this?

Would setting spi_buf_set.count to 2 and using two separate spi_buf structures—one for the lower and one for the higher byte—be the correct approach? Or is there a better method?

Could you provide a sample implementation for this?

Hello,

You need to read the 16-bit value as 2bytes yes, and the normally you do something like:

uint16_t val = (spi_data[1] << 8) | spi_data[0]);

Could you provide full spi read function, how it should look so I can compare if my approach? So I will have some uint16_t array and length of that uint16_t array, so how should I read it via SPI to fill all that array?

I don't want to look how to use peripheral driver, could you provide example of receive function for which I will provide uint16_t buffer and length of that buffer?
