nRF51822 + SE2576L

Hello everyone.

I want to increase the operating range for nRF51822. To do this I added PA SE2576L in design.

Unfortunately, I do not have experience in RF develop, so I just used reccomendations from this topic: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../how-can-i-use-pa-to-increase-the-rf-coverage

Please make a quick look at my schematic and say how it look like. Is it ok from your point of view?

The purpose of the design is never to make connections with any device - there is a number of nrf51822 devices broadcasting UUID's and the purpose of this design is only to scan and read those UUID's along with RSSI value. I want to maximise the scannable range.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely, Pretensor

The nRF51822 schematic looks fine! My only comment is that VDD on pin 12 should have its own decoupling capacitor. When it comes to the PA, it will not increase the scannable range. The reason is, as mentioned in the other discussion, that a LNA will also amplify noise so that the SNR will not be any better. It means that I would recommend you to remove the PA.

What is important in order to get a good scannable range is that the layout of the design is good, meaning that it is a copy of our reference layout and that the antenna is well-designed. This tutorial explains the important factors for a good design.
