I have recently been developing ncs on vs code. However, I encountered a strange problem. After I clicked build configuration, there was no output in the terminal, except that the task is running all the time and the bulid configuration file could not be generated.But I can successfully generate a build configuration from the command line. Why is that?

Do you get a pop-up in the bottom right of the window?
When generating a build configuration through the extension, the build log can be accessed by clicking the pop-up.
If you don't see a pop-up, please let me know which version of VS Code and nRF Connect for VS Code extension you have installed.

Have you by chance selected nRF Connect as the default profile? Doing so will prevent several of the extension features from working because of a VS Code issue (source).
If you have not set nRF Connect as the default profile, please share the support information for the extension with me so I can forward it internally. You can find the "generate support information" toolbar action on the headset icon in the welcome view tab.
