I have some questions regarding the registers of the nPM1300 specifically for the load switches and LDOs.
In the data sheet in chapter 6.5 under "Load Switch" some options like a pull down resistor for active discharge and a soft start circuitry are described for the load switch mode.
In chapter 6.5 under "LDO mode" only a very short statement about the ability of the load switch to be put into an LDO mode is described. Soft start and discharge resistor are not mentioned.
With my questions I only refer to load switch / ldo 1.
When I look into the registers I find the following under base adress 0x800 for the load switch / LDO:
- Register 0x00 with name TaskLDSW1Set: Enable LDSW1. After some testing my understanding is that even though the name and description of the register only mentione the load switch, it can be used for both load switch and ldo to be enabled. Can registers 0x00 and 0x01 be used to enable the output of the regulator independ of the mode (load switch & ldo)?
- Registers 0x05 with name LDSW1GPISEL: Select GPIO to control load switch. Is this option only available for mode load switch? Can I control the LDO with a GPIO as well?
- Register 0x07 with name LDSWCONFIG: Soft start configuration and active discharge resistor. Are these options available in LDO mode?
I would be great to get some clarification on the available configurations in mode LDO as we are currently facing issues with nPM1300s on our in-house hardware not working as expected.
