Avoid reset on Thingy:53 when connecting USB-C

Has anyone got an idea on how to avoid resetting the device, as soon as USB-C is connected to it?

I want to avoid losing state when charging the Thingy:53.

Also, has anyone experience with connecting a separate battery, just to keep RTC running, when the device is off?

Has anyone got an idea on how to avoid resetting the device, as soon as USB-C is connected to it?

I flashed up blinky on a Thingy:53 and tried to unplug the USB-C. This did not interrupt the LED, as we would expect from a reset.

Then I tried to reset the Thingy:53 with the TP11 reset pin, and this did interrupt the LED, as we would expect from a reset.

How exactly do you observe the reset?
