To use BEL application, the soft device must be downloaded before programming. i can find a table shows that which soft device version is suitable for chip version. how can i check my chip version??? one thing that i know is that i am using nrf51822 chip...

To identify your nRF51 chip revision you should look at chapter 2 here. It describes three possible ways to read the chip identification.

With that you can find the suitable softdevice and sdk in table 4 from the compatability matrix.

EDIT: In SDK 8.1.0 the function nrf_ic_info_get will give the hardware revision, RAM size and ROM size from code. This function can be found in \nRF51_SDK_8.1.0_b6ed55f\components\libraries\ic_info\nrf_ic_info.h. Also, this thread describe different approaches to get the hardware revision.
