nRF Connect for Mobile- terms of use

Can it also be used for developing applications for chipsets other than Nordic products? I want to be clearly understood- I know, that technically there are no obstacles, but I am wondering whether this would violate your terms of use. Unfortunately, I havent been able to find any concrete information on this matter. I'm asking Just becouse I respect intellectual property.

  • Bartosz, I respect you writing this to verify, technically we designed it to help the users of nRF solutions, but the tool is trying to scan for generic BLE devices and interact with them in a way the specifications allows, so there is nothing as far as i know legally stopping you from using this tool with other vendor products.

  • Hi

Indeed, as Susheel says I can't find anything saying you can't use this tool with other products, and there shouldn't be anything in the way of using it as you please. In what grade of "developing applications for other chipsets" are we talking here? Nordic Semiconductor will not be liable for any result of using this app for development purposes, and if you want to mention using the app in your product/marketing specifications I think we should run it by our legal department.

Just using it for testing purposes of any chipset should be perfectly fine.

    Best regards,

    Simon
