Reverse Polarity Protection for nPM1100

What would happen if a battery were connected in reverse to the nPM1100? Would it cause damage to the IC, trigger any protection mechanisms, or result in abnormal behavior?

  • There is reverse current protection but unfortunately, there is no reverse polarity protection in the nPM yet. But probably you can have some external protection added yourself outside the module. You could use FET on either side of the battery. However note that the FET VGS threshold should be very low for this use if you have only 1.5V battery. Quick search online something like AM2336N NMOS could work, but better to simulate to be sure.
