Support for v1.x.x toolchains discontinued

Hi everyone,

After the latest update of the nRF Connect SDK plugin for VS Code (2025.4.106), we've seen this pop-up appear. We are using v1.8.0 and now we are not able to compile unless we go back to version 2025.1.127.

Is there still a way to use newer versions with v1.x.x, or is it mandatory to stay on old plugin versions?

Hi

As the warning message says, make sure the SDK Toolchain you use is v2.0.0 and see if you're able to compile. If not, you will have to roll back to the older version I'm afraid.
