AoA packet with nRF52840

Dear Staff,

we bought some nRF52840 usb dongle .

Could you please:

• provide a link/reference in order to send BLE packets in particular:
  • Eddystone packets in advertising data
  • AoA packets in the periodic advertising data 
• provide a:
  • Schematic for getting AoA packets by using the nRF52840 and an antenna array 
  • Sample Firmware for the AoA anchors

Hi,

Eddystone beacons are supported in nRF Connect SDK, see for instance the Beacon and the Eddystone samples. The former shows how to manually set advertisement data to form an Eddystone packet in the advertising data: https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-zephyr/blob/12907948f027e64dacd95d0dfff26270bf08f6b5/samples/bluetooth/beacon/src/main.c#L25

AoA is not supported on the nRF52840, as it does not have support for the required continuous tone extension capability in the radio peripheral. SoCs supporting AoA are currently nRF52811, nRF52820, nRF52833, and nRF5340. See Bluetooth Direction Finding for more information.
