What if the parent node route goes down?

Hi,the nordic Team.

I'm working on the thread protocol.and use the SDK version is V2.9.1.

I have a scenario where my child device is connected to a route or leader. What if my route or leader suddenly goes down? Does my device have its own reconnection mechanism to handle? If so, where is the api support? What if I want to intervene to control the reconnect mechanism of the child device?

Hi liisa, 

The Thread protocol provides the reconnection mechanism for the device to ensure that the other device is available for communication. This check can be done both by a child device to verify that its parent is available and by the parent to monitor the status of its child.
