QSPI is not a valid peripheral option for external flash programming (Generic)

Please help. Why is QSPI not a valid peripheral option?

Environment: SDK v3.0.0nRF Connect for VS Code  v2025.5.92 , VS Code 1.99.3, Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS 

Code copied verbatum from sample:  ./ncs/v3.0.0/nrf/samples/bluetooth/peripheral_lbs

Configuration: Board target: nrf5340dk/nrf5340/cpuapp/nsSytem Build : Build system default

Build appears to succeed.

Erase and Flash to Board fails:

  • I run into the same issue. For me it works in Win11 but not Ubuntu 24.04.4. I did all above but did not get it work until I tried using another dev board - nRF52 DK did never get it to work but it is ok using nRF52840-DK. VSCode is asking me to udated the nRF82840-DK but I am afraid that may make it not work so I stay were it is now since it works I a do not have more time to spend....
