Hello,
I am new to modems and cellular domain.
We intend to design and build a cellular communication extension for an older product. And I eyed the nRF9151 for that. We've recently got an nRF9151-DK, and it has the AT Command modem application preloaded as stated.
We'd like to keep the project as simple as possible for development and for production. So we plan to use the Serial LTE Modem firmware as provided by Nordic.
It's not clear to me if we'll have to flash ourselves the provided SLM firmware in nRF9151 modules, on our populated PCBs, or not (in case the module comes with SLM preloaded) and that's one question.
Another related question, in case we need to flash the SLM firmware ourselves, is there any (simpler, more affordable) alternative to Segger probes? We plan to use it just to flash the nRF9151 with the provided SLM hex/bin.
I mention that I'm aware we could try (and will test that) to flash our future prototypes via the nRF9151-DK, using its DEBUG OUT connector.
Many thanks.
