nPM2100 : Is in single button mode, the ship mode is still available ?

Hi,

Due to pcb constrain, we need to use single button mode with PG/RESET routed to SHPHLD.  In this mode long press for reset in the datasheet but nothing is said about entering ship mode.  Does ship mode still work with long press or is it disabled ?

Thank,

Hoan

  • Nguyen,

I got a correction from the R&D team, we are having an internal ticket to update the documentation for this.

If the SHPHLD pin is configured to enter ship mode at 2s press, then you will lose the reset functionality. It will be in ship mode after 2s press and will be waiting for wakeup signal, so basically nothing happens at 10s mark. If you want to keep the reset functionality with the long press, you can disable the power off functionality from the SHPHLD pin (PWRBUTTON sticky bit), then it will not go to ship mode at 2s press and you can reset it with 10s press. But entry to the ship mode must be done with I2C write in this case.
