BRF5340+NRF21540 RX Sensitivity

Hi Nordic

I’m working with the nRF5340 and nRF21540 for 802.15.4 and would like to know:

  1. The expected RX sensitivity estimation for this combination.

  2. Any reference measurement values available.

Any information you can provide would be really helpful.

Thanks!

  • Hello,

We have data for Received signal strength of nRF5340.

    source:RADIO — 2.4 GHz radio

These values are from the nRF5340 Product Specification and represent typical performance for the SoC alone, without the nRF21540 front-end module (FEM) attached.

''So far, I’m getting -105 dBm, but I think it can be better.'' So, if you see -105dBm, it's an improvement after attaching FEM.

However, the product specification does not provide a combined reference value for nRF5340 + nRF21540, as the final performance depends on board design, antenna matching, and configuration in the application.
