How to define custom service in nRF51822

I used AdaFruit Bluetooth LE shield previously that uses nRF8001. I can define new customer service using nRFgo studio (which only supports nRF8001). I am moving towards using nRF51822 from RedBearLab, and did not see any tool to define customer Gatt Service. How do I do that?

I started looking at using mBed and only see code that is using predefined services. The Arduino library seems is not fully released yet.

I went through the tutorial and seems the answer is a line saying that the service is defined using nRFgo Studio. But I only see nRF8001 and nRF8002 in the Studio. So how do I configure service for nRF51822.

Maybe there is something obvious that I didn't see. Can you point me to the direction?

The 128-bit UUID (vendor specific) can be created with nrfgo. This is just a random UUID, but since there are so many different possibilities the change of someone else using the same is very low. Create this UUID the same way you create them for nRF8001: nRF8001 Setup -> Edit 128-bit UUIDs... Click Add new. My UUID is now C6C4xxxx-40EB-4FF9-8E02-945B0F397A52. Byte 5-8 is where you add your 16-bit ID, which is the ID that you actually will work with.

Thank you. So you are saying only UUID that needs to be generated. Now when I looked into the services.h code, I see there are some hex code (SETUP_MESSAGES_CONTENT structure) that was generated along. Is this going to be compatible between nRF8001 and nRF51822?
