Drop in compatibility of nrf5340 and nrf54h20

Hey folks, we are planning to implement BLE Audio based on one of the Nordic ships and unfortunately nrf54H is not really available now and nrf54l does not support LC3 audio as far as we know - so we are wondering if we could use evaluation board nrf5340 and also develop schematics based on the chip and then just use nrf54H as drop in replacement as soon as it will be available? Or with some very minor changes ideally.

We would've judge by ourselves but there is no datasheet or any other info available on the chip :( So if you could send it to use we will really appreciate! (or even better if we could get nrf54H20-dk within 2-3 weeks in the Netherlands?)

Hi Denis,

The nRF54 series products and the nRf53840 are not pin compatible. It is therefore not possible to use the nRF54H20 and nRF5340 as direct drop-in replacements for each other on the same PCB.

So if you could send it to use we will really appreciate! (or even better if we could get nrf54H20-dk within 2-3 weeks in the Netherlands?)

You can reach out to your Regional Sales manager requesting for the datasheets and the DK's.. Right now, this needs to go through the RSM as the product is not publicly available.. If you need the contact information of your RSM, do let me know.
