Hello DevZone team,
I recently received a new nPM1300 Eval Kit (PCA10152, 1.3.0, 2025.19) and connected it the first time following the documentation ( docs.nordicsemi.com/.../use_ek_power_up.html ).
I always receive the error “WARN module_pmic: No response from PMIC.” in the terminal in nPM Power UP.
The measured voltages are too low:
- VSYS: 0.695V
- VBUS: 5.19V
- VOUT1: 0.234V
- VOUT2: 0.260V
- VBUSOUT: 0.710V
The values are measured with connected USB PMIC and nPM Controller only.
If I connect the battery the nPM1300 gets very hot and the battery voltage is dropping very fast.
Nothing is connected to the EK on the output side and the jumpers are default. I have a 1500 mAh battery with NTC.
The symptoms seem very similar to RE: nPM1300EK, WARN module_pmic: No response from PMIC. .
It seems that the chip draws very much current due to a short circuit fault.
Does it mean the nPM1300 is broken? Can I try something else?
Thank you and best regards,
Manuel
