Thing91x Support for WIFI not enough RAM

If I try to compile any of the WIFI examples for the Thingy91x I get a RAM overflow error. The only exception to this is the WIFI scanning example. If I build these for any other nRF5340 platform (like Thingy53) they build fine. It seems the Thingy91x partitions the nRF5340 RAM differently than on other platforms. Why is that? Is it possible to get the other WIFI examples to work on the Thingy91x?

  • Hello,

Is it possible to get the other WIFI examples to work on the Thingy91x?

No, and the thingy91x is not meant to be used for Wi-Fi prototyping. At the moment, the software and tools don't support this, even though the hardware does, and there are no specific plans to support this either. But it is possible that this will change in the future.
