Thingy 91X and PMIC1300 fuel gauge

I have a thingy 91x and am trying to get the fuel gauge on the sample code working. It doesn't include the thingy91x as a sample of this, but is it still possible? As I know when the default firmware was in the device I could view the battery percent

Hi Chris,

That is right, it might not be configured to work with the Thingy91X by default. Though getting this working should be possible with some additional configuration. Though this can be a bit more complex in case you are not so used to the npm1300. Note that the npm is controlled by the nRF5340 onboard the Thingy91X.

Make sure that the dts of the 5340 is showing the right connections to the npm. Are you getting any particular issues?

OK I didn't realise that it was controlled by the nRF5340, is this the way on the example already flashed on the device when receiving it? Or does it calculate it in a different way?

I believe so. I am not that familiar with the preflashed SW but this should be it. The connetivity bridge should be flashed to the nRF5340.

The npm should also be supported by hello_nrfcloud and asset tracker, having a look at these might be helpful.

Since looking up on this more - I've came across this thread. I know this may not be as accuarate as the PMIC1300 but im guessing this should be sufficient for a estimate? Currently trying it now

Yeah, it won't be as accurate but should work. I guess what you need depends on your use-case.
