Change the message in the notification bar of the beacon service lib?

Hello, can I change the message that appears in the notification bar of the beacon server lib for Android 5.x? I know how to do that. I would like to know if it is allowed by the developer?

Hi. Can you provide some useful links to the things you are talking about here? Are you using your android phone as a beacon, or are you creating a beacon device and reading it with your phone? Also explain with pictures or something which notification bar you are referring to. (Maybe this is a post better suited for an android forum?)
