Thingy91X and storage

When the Thingy 91X is connected to a laptop via USB C, there is a drive available that contains a few files - config.txt, readme.txt, and an inf file.

Is it possible to use this drive to automatically save debug information to this so it can be read from a laptop? For example if a IoT device stops broadcasting and a log is kept on the device to view before it comes online again

Hi,

That is not supported. The files you see there reside on the nRF5340 (which handles USB connectivity) and not on the nRF91.

It should be possible to somehow get the data onto the nrF5340 (typically via UART or another serial interface), but this would requier you to imlement support for tha tyourself, both on the nRF91 and nRF5340 (the nRF5340 on the Thingy91X runs a connectivity applicaiton that you will then have to replace with your own application that (also) handles this.
