Is multiple channels possible with the nrf5340?

First of all I am very new to all of this and have been reading up a lot on the topic.

I am trying to create a walkie-talkie like setup where 2 development kits will communicate the audio data to and from eachother. However I also want to be able to connect a earpiece with LC3 support to each DK. Meaning the microphone from the earpiece will send the audio to the DK, which might do something to the signal and forward it to the other DK, and then up to another set of earpieces where a person can hear the audio from the other person.

My question is wether this is possible and if I would need the nrf5340 Audio DK or if the regular DK will be enough since the codec will be in the earpieces (Correct me if I am wrong).

Any help is appreciated thank you in advance.

Hi,

Yes multi channel bi-directional audio application is possible with nRF5240 and the walkie-talkie demo is supported out of the box with the Audio DK.
If your external hardware (earpiece ) is handling LC3 encoding and decoding and provides digital audio, then you can use regular DK but just be aware that data forwarding and integration needs to be done.
