Best way to measure the complete power consumption of a Raspberry Pi Pico with a NB-IoT Hat using the Power Profiler Kit II

Dear Nordic DevZone,

I have a question which is quite noobish but I want to make sure I am using the right tools for the job. My setup looks like this I have a raspberry pi pico (RP2040) which is connected to a SIM7020E NB-IoT module. (Link of the Module https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/Pico-SIM7020E-NB-IoT). I want to measure the energy consumption of this hardware stack. My idea was to use a power profiler kit II as a source for this hardware stack. I would plug in the VOUT of the Power Profiler Kit II to the VBUS of the raspberry pi pico and SIM7020E NB-IoT module and supply 5V and also add the GND of the power profiler kit to ground on this hardware stack. Is this the correct way to approach this I am just afraid I might fry my hardware.

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, you can use the PPK2 as long as the devices doesn't require too much power. Supply the power from the PPK2, and put it in Source mode (in the PPK app in nRF Connect for Desktop).
