How to install nrf connect SDK for vscode on Linux

I see that you have got nRF Connect for VS Code instaled and also got the SDK code itself and toolchain. Can you elaborate on what the problem is now?

Hi,

I see. Nordic does not support the UF2 bootloader specifically, but it is supported in Zephyr itself and from wat I can see it should work. However, I believe the commant to flash with the UF2 runner is "west flash -r uf2". (Also, this reuqiers that the board allready has the Adafruit UF2 Bootloader).

I means do we have way to use nrf tool chain's west?

In my under standing we should export tool chain's west to shell env, and then I can use that west in normal shell.

I am looking for a button or tool or script to export nrf tool chain's west and nrf tool chain's  python.

Hi,

You do not need to use west from the toolchain, but that is what we recommend and support. You can open a shell from the toolchain from the commandlien using "nrfutil toolchain-manager launch --shell --ncs-version v3.1.0" (replace version as appropriate) to use the toolchain.

I have to install nrfutil manually? Or it just some where I didn't see it?

Hi,

Yes, to use nrfutil from the command outside of vscode, you need to install it separately. You can download it from here and put it in your path. Then, you need to install the sub commands you need (like toolchain-manager). See the nrfutil documentation for details.
