Unit is years.
Not sure what you mean with cumulative or consecutive - its wall clock time. 10 years if the device never gets hotter than 85°C, 2 years if it ever gotten hotter than 85 but not higher than 105°C.Note that these are probably chip internal temps and not outside case temps (but I could be wrong here, not a nordic employee), but that matters little for a low power chip.

"y" refers to years. It refers to number of years that the data can be reliably retained without power at the mentioned temperature.

I think the question is, if you reprogram the RRAM at some point, will the retention cycle restart from zero again.
Yes it will restart from recent write.
