FOTA DFU nRF54L15 using nRF Connect for Windows over BLE and nRF52840

Hi, I appreciate some help with my situation. Here's my setup.

• nRF54L15-DK using nRF Connect SDK 3.1.0.
• using nRF52840 dongle as proxy for BLE
• nRF Connect for Windows

Is it possible to do the DFU (FOTA) of nRF54L15-DK over BLE from Windows. Its not clear whether it is supported. If supported, is there a good starting example that I can use for this purpose? Should I switch to Linux to make this happen? I'd rather not if I can get this to work on Windows.

I'm fairly new to this ecosystem and trying to figure things out.

Appreciate any help you can provide on this.

BLE OTA DFU is not supported on Windows. Please see this DevZone ticket, which discusses the same topic.

1. Does this setup still need a dongle (e.g. nRF52840 dongle) or is it natively supported from a Linux machine with BLE enabled?

2. Can you point me to an sample/example I can use so I can BLE OTA DFU from a Linux machine?

Hello,

Please see the topic "Device Firmware Upgrade over BLE using a PC Command Line Tool." You can also refer to the Academy exercises, which explain how to configure an application for DFU support.

In this setup, you do not need a dongle, as the PC communicates directly with the nRF board over BLE.
