Fully isolated board, CC1 and CC2 not accessible

The nPM1304 requires the CC1 and CC2 pins to be connected to the USBC port. Can they be left open/grounded on the IC side?  

The problem which arose is that CC1 and CC2 are connected in our design to 5.1k resistors on the external part of the PCB(fully isolated). 

I don't want to connect these pins to the nPM1304 directly because this would mess up the whole isolation strategy, also to connect this via an additional isolator, is to cost intense. 

There is no need for higher loading currents(only up to 100 mA).

How would you recommend to proceed, what does the nPM1304 require?

As per the system regulator section of the nPM1304 it is stated that: "If USB Type-C configuration is not used, CC1 and CC2 can be left floating or connected to ground. The default VBUS current limit will remain at 100 mA until the host negotiates and configures a higher current."

So for your board, this seems perfectly fine.
