How to maximize Bluetooth range on nRF52840DK or nRF52840 Dongle?

For an application developed using the latest nRF Connect SDK v3.1.0, how would you recommend configuring Bluetooth performance to maximize connection range for nRF52840DK(s) or nRF52840 Dongle(s)?  What parameters would you check or adjust, and why?  Is this done through Kconfig?  Where is this covered in your documentation?

Hi Kenneth,

You could try using the LE Coded PHY as shown in this sample: https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-3.0.1/page/nrf/samples/bluetooth/peripheral_hr_coded/README.html 

Also, try increasing the transmission power to +8dBm : https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-latest/page/nrf/protocols/matter/getting_started/transmission_power.html#changing_tx_power_for_bluetooth_le

Question:  Since I am using the SoftDevice Controller, are the Kconfig parameters in your second link above to control tx power used by the SoftDevice Controller as well as the Zephyr Bluetooth LE Controller?
