Linux LC3 pre-encoded audio over USB

We want to encode audio to LC3 format before we pass it to nrf5340 over USB. Because we know the processing power of nrf5340 is limited. Do you have any support for this? Our target is multiple parallel audio channels (like 8 or so), but the encoding capacity of nrf5340 is maxed out with 3-4 channels. We have powerful enough processor to do this before feeding it to USB.

Is there any support you can offer for this? I think we need new Linux USB driver for this and also support from nrf5340 application sw.

And to be more precise, encoding must be real-time. We can't encode first to file and then transfer it. So essentially we want Linux driver, like snd-usb-audio, to which we can play audio to in LC3 format.

Our audio team suggests that you may want to explore the LC3 implementation provided by Google, available as open source here: https://github.com/google/liblc3

This library supports multiple platforms and could be a good starting point for live LC3 encoding. We recommend trying to compile and run it on a PC to evaluate its functionality in your environment.
