Can nRF52840 support more than 4 SPI slaves?

nRF52840 datasheets says it supports 3 SPI slaves, but I need 4 SPI slave devices on my next design (the current design uses 2 SPIs). I don't need DMA transfer at this moment.

I am wondering if nRF52840 can support more than 4 SPI slaves or not especially in terms of Registers.

Possibly, as more than 3 SPIM masters are available in fact many more providing it is ok to prioritise the additional connections using EGU. I haven’t tried slaves, but here is an example for masters: /timing-of-spi-when-sharing-common-lines-on-independent-timers/467992
