vscode very slow - /proc/self/exe taking 100% cpu

Hello,

Using nRF Connect vscode extension, vscode is very slow and almost unusable.

The following process is started multiple time and i have an instance taking 100% cpu on my machine.

I'm running latest vscode version and extension. PC is ubuntu 22.04.

Hi Joel,

Does this happen generally or only when you do certain tasks like building?
Have you tried reinstalling the extension?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I always append. Just opening vscode, navigating to the build configuration to click Build of Flash, i get the issue.

I have tried to reinstall the extension and also to use an old one, same issue.

I can simply see the issue because there is small blue clock on the extension icon: 

and the window is not responding (or very very slowly)

I don't find solution.

What is this process supposed to do ? If we can answer this question maybe it's a good start.

Note: last week it was okay, it sometimes occurred but no real concern.

Opening today the vscode project, i cannot build as it is too slow...

Hello Benjamin,

I have been in my .config/Code directory. It is 1.6GB !!!!

I have removed this directory (keeping a copy) and restarted vscode. Seems it solved my issue for now!
