Bare Metal option S145 timeline

Hello,

I'm looking for more information on the soon to be released S145 softdevice for use with the NRF connect baremetal option for NRF54L.  Will S145 support BLE PaWR and ESL? Is there a road map available for S145 and baremetal option?

We are very interested in the baremetal option! Thank you for starting to support it.

  • Hi Skittles,
I'm not supposed to talk about unreleased product. Please contact your local Nordic's RSM for the request.
But as far as I know it would be similar to the last S140 regarding supported features/roles , found this text on our website:
"SoftDevice S145 is a central and multirole BluetoothRegistered Low Energy protocol stack for the nRF54L Series devices. It supports up to 5 concurrent links in all roles (Broadcaster, Central, Observer, Peripheral). "

  • Is there an estimated release date? I see the webpage on the Bare Metal SDK says 'later this year' but there's now not much of the year left.

We have an existing nRF52840 product that uses a huge amount of the old Nordic API, and we're looking at moving to nRF54L but can't afford to rewrite everything on top of Zephyr. This would be perfect

  • Hi Gordon,
As mentioned earlier, we at techsupport can't comment on the future product or roadmap. Please contact your local RSM to get the most updated information. Please use the Contact us form if you don't have the contact to your local RSM yet.

What I can tell is the plan has not changed, S145 will come later this year, some point in Dec most likely.
