nRF Connect SDK v3.1.0 installation failed

Hello,
I’ve been trying to install Nordic Connect SDK 3.1.0 in VS Code, but the installation keeps getting stuck midway and never completes.

I’ve tried several times over the past three days, and occasionally the installation finishes — but then an error window appears saying that the installation failed.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

• Deleted the entire C:\ncs folder and reinstalled

• Installed nRF Connect for Desktop

• Installed nRF Util

• Tried installing version 3.1.1 as well

• Installed Python

• Disabled McAfee antivirus

• Tried installing via CLI (stops at 39%)

At the moment, the C:\ncs folder only contains:

C:\ncs\downloads\



C:\ncs\toolchains\

(Solved)
In the end, I followed the manual installation guide and got it working.

I still haven’t figured out why the automatic installation through VSCode or the CLI didn’t work.

If anyone finds out the reason, please let me know.
